Exterior Painting FAQ’s
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PAINT THE EXTERIOR OF A HOUSE?
The cost depends on the size and material of your house. If you want to hire a professional paint crew and need help repainting your entire exterior, consider calling us for help. We will get the job done in one day and show you that Speed + Quality = RESULTS!
CAN I USE INTERIOR PAINT ON THE EXTERIOR?
It is not recommended to use interior paint on outdoor surfaces. Although interior and exterior paints look the same, exterior paint has properties that help it fight weather conditions. Interior paint simply doesn’t provide the right level of protection needed for outdoor surfaces.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTERIOR PAINT AND EXTERIOR PAINT?
The paint has different properties in the formula. Interior paint is made to withstand scrubbing, staining, and allow cleaning with basic household items such as clothes. Exterior paint is made to withstand fading and mildew as well as other weather elements.
IS IT OK TO PAINT OUTSIDE IN COLD WEATHER?
This depends on the type and brand of paint you buy. Most household paints and stains are only restricted for use in temperatures of 10 degrees celsius and warmer. If the surface is too cold, it can result in staining or mildew problems on your exterior. You may want to hire a professional crew for an outdoor painting to get the job done properly. At Paintology, we offer you a free consultation!
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO PAINT HOUSE EXTERIOR?
Early summer or early fall is typically the most ideal time to paint your house. This is because there are minimal rain and fluctuations in temperatures from night today. Painting during the right seasons will ensure the paint will cure and dry smoothly.
